Now I know there’s at least three English PR/digital PR companies expanding north of the border to Scotland in the next six months but another competitor has popped up in the PR market that not many may have considered… All Media Scotland. Looking at their ridiculously nifty revamp (more on that here), there’s an interesting part here. Look at the list of services:

  • media release writing/posting
  • media training
  • magazine advice

That’s core traditional PR services. I don’t think anyone expected competition from AMS, which for years has provided fantastic inside news, gossip and analysis of the Scottish media scene, daily updated before competitors even had websites.

The question is this though: will the PR companies who use the excellent press release upload service continue to pay for it? Or will they take the huff at potentiallty funding the competition? Or will they think AMS’ one-off type service isn’t to be bothered with?

Or – go the other way and spot the opportunity – do they get in touch and say ‘we’ll work with you if you need spare hands?’

Interesting times…
