Right, we have a potential date, venue and cost for the inaugral Scottish Social Media Dinner. Read on for the details.

As I said before, was going for the centre of Glasgow, so looking at the excellent Chippy Doon the Lane, Tues December 8 (would have done Dec 1 but there’s an Edinburgh Tweetup on) and it’s looking like it’ll cost £20 for which you get three courses and a cuppa (you won’t go home hungry). Now the venue can hold 30 plus the speakers.

So what I need to know here is – are people up for this? As explained before the night would see four speakers talk for ten minutes tops – speakers TBD but you can bet I’ll be the intro one (and talking about the recent Whyte & Mackay social media success with their story of whisky at the South Pole) and three others. A few people have said that if the date works they’ll take part and it could be quite interesting if they all say aye. Given that the Scottish Digital Media Unconference attracted a good crowd, I’m fairly sure of being able to bring in good, relevant speakers for businesses and agencies alike.

The emphasis of the night is on food and good company with a bit of social media/digital PR lessons. It won’t be as basic as the New Media Brekkie’s and will aim to be on a par with the recent Nation1 event, so it’s for newbies as well as experts.

Anyway, names below if you fancy it (not on Twitter, below please) – and if you would rather the 1st than the 8th, then also state that (sorry Edinburgh). If we get 30 people saying aye to this before the weekend, then it’s on. Looking at a 5.30 for 5.45pm start and being finished for 7.30/8pm at the latest.

Note: when leaving a comment please specify if either date suits you or if you have a preference for Dec 1 or Dec 8. Thanks.
