There’s a lot of bleating that the iPad doesn’t multitask. I think it will. If not at launch, then by June. The evidence for this is quite simple. There’s a lot of reports that iPhone 4.0 does multitasking. Now that’s the same OS that will run on the iPad, so when it comes out, the iPad will – with a simple update – multitask.

The reason Apple never announced this the other night is a) 4.0 isn’t finished yet and b) why lose a later PR hit? Just now everyone is talking about the iPad. When 4.0 with multitasking comes out there will be more coverage.

The delay on the news is so people talk about the iPad now and iPhone 4.0 later. Simple PR move.
