the pr audit

lets go to work

It's a fact of client/agency relationships - or even internal communications - that quite often you can be worrying if you are using them to the best of their abilities or maximising their time.

That's where the PR audit, also known as the PR MOT comes in. Depending on the size of your organisation/external relationships, it may take either half a day or a day, but the PR MOT will see your communications come under scrutiny.

Please note, this won't involve contacting your communicators - internal or external - unless you want us to. It will be about looking at the following:

  • Where you should be getting media exposure?
  • How much you should be paying?
  • Are you getting enough time spent on your PR?
  • Are you getting online and offline coverage?
  • Are you being presented with enough creative opportunities?
  • Do you have crisis communication plans in place that go beyond 'no comment' and include online?

None of this is meant to criticise those you have carrying out your PR and communication duties, it's about ensuring you're getting the best return on investment and maximising resources - which makes perfect sense in these financially-sensitive times.

What you'll get after the PR MOT is a report showcasing the strengths and weaknesses of your current PR/communication offering with suggestions on how to make things better. That report will include how to make better use of what you have, how to engage more online and offline and what tools you already have that you should be making better use of.

Remember PR is how the world sees you and decides if they want to work with you or buy your product. Surely for one small fee, that?s worth making sure it's working as hard as it should be for you - and getting you results.

Your car won't go properly without a MOT, what makes you think your publicity and sales will?
